[Hanging out in Seoul] Language Exchange and making friends

If you are a foreign resident in Seoul, I believe it is quite difficult to make new friends. Mostly due to language barriers, it isn't very easy to approach a Korean person and be friends.

On the contrary, there are also many Koreans who are willing to make friends from different countries but where can one do that?

Go to Itaewon and sit in a cafe?

I would highly doubt that something will happen.

I have found an interesting Facebook page where a private group of people, not a company, hosts a language exchange meetup every week in a cafe at different spots around Seoul called

"Language Exchange Cafe"

As the name itself, it's just about strangers in Seoul coming together for making friends, learning a new language or cultures while sipping a cup of coffee.

They also host different parties for clubbing, Halloweens, and etc.

I have been there a couple of times and it was quite fun although it wouldn't be so easy for a shy person to join the conversation so randomly.

But why not try some new activity to lighten up your mundane life?

Here is the link,
